Welcome to the latest edition of SAYRA Magazine. I am pleased with the feedback we continue to get, which has a certain amount of propriety about it, as in “We should have this in the magazine…” or “I think this topic will be helpful to our women FAs.” I love the first person pronouns! This sense of ownership from our readers, and the fact that our readership keeps growing, demonstrates to me that female financial advisors, if organized into an affinity group, have the potential to greatly expand our market presence and power. Hopefully SAYRA, “the voice for female financial advisors,” can play a role in this effort. Stay tuned!

As financial advisors, we hear these refrains, and others like them, from time-to-time. One might picture these words from the mouth of a wise, grizzled survivor of the Great Depression. But as that venerable generation becomes fewer and fewer in number, we hear the same words from a new and surprising demographic: the Millennials, the generation that has entered adulthood since the year 2000.
